Marine police confiscated illegally imported 6,250 turtle eggs in Kuala Lumpur that were allegedly meant to be sold on Borneo. The seized turtle eggs have been handed to wildlife authorities. Malaysian Law prohibits the selling of turtle eggs without legal permits from the Malaysian Fisheries Department.

ARREST is a five-year program funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by FREELAND Foundation. The program is fighting trafficking in illegal wildlife in Asia in three ways: reducing consumer demand; strengthening law enforcement; and strengthening regional cooperation and anti-trafficking networks.
