Myanmar hosts the ASEAN-WEN’s 5th Annual Meeting   

At the 5th Annual Meeting of the ASEAN-WEN in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, Southeast Asian governments and international partners expressed strong commitments to further foster law enforcement and strengthen collaboration to tackle wildlife crime. Significant progress by authorities was acknowledged in wildlife crime prosecution, judicial mechanisms, and transnational investigations of African ivory trafficking.          Read full story

Cambodia officially establishes Coordination Unit and
Task Force                                                     

Cambodia’s Wildlife Enforcement Network Coordination Unit (CWCU) is officially established. Housed within the Department of Legislation and Law Enforcement to ensure sustainability, the CWCU will oversee all activities related to wildlife law enforcement and help coordinate with other ASEAN countries on cross-border investigations.

The Government of Viet Nam and ASEAN-WEN launched an outdoor awareness campaign with a large billboard on the road to the Noi Bai International Airport in
Ha Noi to remind residents and visitors that "Wildlife Trafficking is Punishable by Law."
